-------------------------------------
Otorhinolaryngology or ENT (ear, nose and throat) is the branch of medicine and surgery that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, throat, and head and neck disorders.
The most common procedures that we perform are:
- Voice change (Laryngoplasty): Feminization or masculinization of one's voice. Laryngoplasty also attains the desired result of reducing of the prominence of the Adam's apple.
- Pillar procedure: The Pillar Procedure is a simple, safe and effective treatment that is designed to help you stop snoring and, in many cases, help people suffering from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
- Somnoplasty: Somnoplasty is used not not only to treat habitual snoring, but also chronic nasal congestion caused by enlarged turbinates, nasal blockage caused by deviated septum, and sleep apnea.
- Sinus surgery: Sinus surgery involves the precise removal of diseased sinus tissue with the improvement in the natural drainage channels by the creation of a pathway for infected material to drain from the sinus cavities.
- Septoplasty: Septoplasty is a corrective surgical procedure done to straighten the nasal septum.
- Turbinoplasty: Turbinoplasty is the operation performed to reduce the size of the turbinate. Usually, only the inferior turbinates need correction.
- Tonsillectomy: Surgery to remove the tonsils may be necessary for those patients suffering from repeated, severe infections (five or more per year) that refuse to respond to treatment and significantly interfere with their school or work schedule.
- Adenoidectomy: An adenoidectomy is a quick operation to remove the adenoids. The operation carries very few risks. Removing the adenoids will not put your child at greater risk of developing infection.
- Tympanostomy tubes: A tympanostomy tube is a small tube inserted into the eardrum in order to keep the middle ear aerated for a prolonged period of time, and to prevent the accumulation of mucus in the middle ear.
- Tympanoplasty: Tympanoplasty is a reconstructive procedure performed to repair torn tympanic membranes or ossicles and help restore hearing, treat certain types of deafness, and prevent middle ear infections.
- Myringoplasty: The aim of a myringoplasty is to close the hole in your eardrum with a small skin graft. We usually take the skin for the graft through an incision just above your ear
- Laryngoscopy: Laryngoscopy is an examination that lets your doctor look at the back of your throat, your voice box (larynx) , and vocal cords with a scope (laryngoscope).
